Reggiane Falcon Mk I, Advanced Air Striking Force, March 1940.

Ordered from Italy in January 1940, in real life the Reggiane Falcon never made it into RAF service - but what if at least some of the 600-strong order placed by the Air Ministry had been delivered?

Image

The Reggiane Falcon Mk 1 (known universally as the "Reggie" or just "Reg") was popular with RAF pilots for its easy handling and pleasant flight characteristics. However, the engine was both underpowered and unreliable and the aircraft's armament of two MGs was insufficient. Once Hurricanes became available in larger numbers, the Falcon was relegated to a training role in which it excelled.
