All very nice acquisitions, folks, especially that Moonbat. What a wicked looking beast.

Re: Oh, No! - My Stash is Getting Unfeasibly Large!
Just picked this up from my LMS, it's not normally my subject type, but was a significant advance in technology and in my opinion a worthy subject for updating by Airfix as their old kit was well past its build by date.
I have done a quick in box review here > http://www.uamf.org.uk/viewtopic.php?f=55&t=16111

It's ok, her indoors doesn't venture on here, just don't shout it too loud though!

A surprisingly cheap bid nabbed me this from eBay, when the H-16 first flew it was the largest helicopter in the world and actually had two engine rooms (now that’s a phrase you don’t hear often in the aviation world).
My work bench is starting to look like Portsmouth Naval Dockyard.

Good score, Alan, I love these (much) older kits, especially those of subjects that still haven't been covered by mainstream model companies...
Please critique my posts honestly i.e. say what you think so I can learn and improve...

Never heard of that chopper before.splash wrote:A surprisingly cheap bid nabbed me this from eBay, when the H-16 first flew it was the largest helicopter in the world and actually had two engine rooms (now that’s a phrase you don’t hear often in the aviation world).
Just got one rare vintage kit the other day, too, but not time for pics right now
Waiting for the day, when wars for territory will be something to be read about in history books only.

Re: Oh, No! - My Stash is Getting Unfeasibly Large!
This oldie arrived here (maybe that´s some kind of "beast" on its own, too?)
I got it for a "nice price", maybe, because the upper wing is broken:
that will be difficult to fix, just a little stress on the wing (while rigging, wing will be stressed a bit), and it will snap agin!
Maybe I´ll bear some holes sidewise into both cracked ends, and use some plastic rod to strengthen the connection a bit?
Oh, the plastic looks brittle - any info bout Hawks old plastic very welcome!
The instructions have a nice old-style charm to them:

Found these two going cheap in a Bristol LMS and thought it would be rude not to buy them.
My work bench is starting to look like Portsmouth Naval Dockyard.

This arrived today..... I have no idea why really as I don't build 1/48th scale kits, I never have in the past but the pre-release hype got me!
It does look rather nice inside
