I love WWI planes - you can say it's a passion with me. Got these long sought for models.

I'm not sure if these will be built anytime soon, but it's great to just have them in the stash.

Another I looked for was this Matchbox B-17.

Image

It was always readily available, but the price was never right. I finally found one on eBay for a price I was willing to pay. I'm a big time B-17 aficionado and for me the old adage is true; "You can NEVER have TOO MANY B-17s!"

Nice haul, especially that B17. It's a great classic kit. Not the most detailed but it builds into a nice replica with great potential for conversions and detailing. Three good markings options too.

All the best.

Being an artist and an avid painter, I truly believe in the beauty of simplicity. While not extravagant in terms of fine details, I agree with you Gregers. If done right and carefully, it will probably build up nicely.

Let's see... in my stash I have 2 Academy B-17G models, 2 Academy B-17F models, 1 Airfix B-17G, and 2 Revell B-17F models along with the aforementioned Matchbox kit. As I posted, "You can't have too many B-17s!"

You know those times when you have decided that you have far too nany kits and you think "that's it. I am going to have to seriously cut back on what I buy. Only the odd little kit and even that has to be a bargain" that wss me at the weekend. Then I saw the kit pictured below and then found out the price (£25)
BANG went the good intentions!.
I am seriously cutting back now. (Yeh right says the inner voice).

All the best.

Nice score, Greg! I think that slippery slope thing is endemic with our lot. Certainly true here!

New project starts:

Image

The three Heller kits represent less than £20 on the 'Bay. It's good to know you can still get a cheap kit on Ebay. The fourth one is a rarity for me, a WW2 German aircraft (sort of), which didn't cost less than £20 on Ebay or elsewhere. I'm going to do an in-box review of this one elsewhere.

My catch from Modellbau-Ausstellung 21./22nd of October this year, Stadthagen (close to Hannover, Germany):

Image

The Frog (old Hasegawa from the 60ies) Sabre cost me 11 € (bought from another modeller), the Plasticart Turbolet L410 I got from the fund of our club, that´s why I could get it for a fiver.
The PJ figures I got from a trader selling there, prices you recognize on the picture (?).
I could make a super zoom pic of the figures, they look very much "alive" :-)
For the price, they give good bang for my bucks.
Waiting for the day, when wars for territory will be something to be read about in history books only.

After years of not buying 1/48 kits (apart from two Airfix Lynx helicopters which were so cheap it would have been rude not to....) it seems they are like London Buses :-D

Having purchased the new tool Walrus, I have now acquired the likewise new-tool 1/48 P-51D Mustang

I have to say, it does look rather nice in the box, but it's not going to look right next to all the 1/72 builds already in the cabinets :-| :-| But, it is a P-51, my third (I think) favourite aircraft, so it had to be got
