On page 62, I showed the 48 kits I had won on eBay. I also raised the question as to why, having won so many kits in one go, I then felt obliged to buy some more at the local IPMS kit auction. Dr iggie kindly diagnosed it as Advanced Stash Syndrome. This is the result of the latest outbreak of that cursed affliction:

Image

I have now enrolled in Stashaholics Anonymous (because the first step is to admit you've got a problem, right?) and entered an intensive treatment program which involved selling 17 of my eBay haul at the latest IPMS meeting. I also didn't buy anything. Not a single thing. It will be a long road, there will be relapses, but I will beat this.*

Springy

Jewel of that pile is the Bird Dog, believe it or not. Paid the princely sum of £4 for a factory sealed kit.

As Biggleswade hauls seem to be the theme, here's mine. Stars for me are the Jolly Rogers F-14 (which will go nicely with my nearly completed Revell F-4J of VF-84, and which dazzled said was really good so it's his fault if it's not!! :ha: ), and the Spitfire XII from Xtrakit (which Kitaholic said is the best so again..... :ha: ). Hey Mav, I've got a MiG-27 nose. Unfortunately it's attached to the rest of the model which I want to build to go with the -23.

"He's done it again!"

Ok I know I said I was on a buying ban but let me explain this one!

When I was 13 I went to France on a school trip I was lucky enough to be in what I can only assume was an outlet store and I came across a 1/72 Heller C-135 for 15 euros!
The kit made it all the way home and half way through building it unfortunately met my youngest brother at the time!
Needless to say the poor bird came off worse and was rendered destroyed!

Fast forward 13 years and I came across this on ebay:
Image
(the one I found was the previous 1994 version without the Wings marking on the box)
This kit basically represents all Military B707's for me due to various things, Refueling booms, White Top Livery and other things but the main two being Air Fete at RAF Mildenhall was my favorite airshow as a child with hell of alot of memories and the mentioned ill-fated childhood kit.
So the buying ban as you can understand was lifted for a one off occasion :D well that's my excuse anyway haha!
I managed to pick her up for £33.80 after a fight at the end of the auction so I think it was an okish price.

Sorry for babbling on I just wanted to share my story :D.
Hope you all don't mind!
