Just have to find the mojo that I seem to have misplaced

I'm sure you'll do them justice mate. Just start off with the simplest one to get the mojo rolling 8-)

They are not easy builds, splash, as they are VERY limited run, but saying that, they aren't difficult. Just a lot of thinking and preparation before applying glue. No fancy slide moulding here. Complex shapes are built up out of multiple parts. They are pretty accurate and well detailed, but like any kit have their faults. Review of the Scorpion/Scimitar here

http://www.onthewaymodels.com/reviews/A ... onprev.htm

As the plastic is white the pics don't show the detail too well. Etched tracks are a nice, but probably fiddly, touch

Still hunting for my mojo, Daz, think it must have fallen into one of those wormholes. Anybody seen it on their workbench??

I haven't got your mojo, mine is just recovering enough while building a Vulcan, will see if there's anything hiding near the carpet monster. You know the one that's eaten my T.4 Lightning IP. Unless that's gone down a wormhole!!.
Hoping to return to modelling sometime this year!!

First instalment of my Airfix Advents Calendar Competition Win Voucher Splurge. I was trying to get some kits from the Winter Sale but with the voucher checkout failed as my "pay now" total was £0.00! By the time I had time to look at it again the sale had finished. Thankfully I have been able to pre-order two kits I really want the SeaKing HAR5 and Provost but I really had to fish around to find stuff as I don't do WWII. That said I've basically started a new sub-category by adding some British Tanks, the Churchill primarily to go alongside it's Matchbox sibling. I didn't know the Cromwell was a new tool until after I bought it and looks very nice. I had decided that I didn't need two Swifts as I have the nice CMR kit, but remembered that Freightdog have done a F7 conv. with Fireflash missiles (duly ordered). Brush and paint took my pay now above zero. Everything turned up in a massive box full of styrene wotsits and my daughter had great fun fishing for the items. It took several minutes to find the tin of paint!

Being a scientific survey vessel it falls into my 'Research' thing??
The instruction sheet dates it as 1966 and those glass paint jars contain 'proper' probably harmful but still usable paint that has a quality reassuring petrochemical odour!

I've read some reviews previously regarding Revell Beagle (there's a version in our local Lidl recently) saying it bears no resemblance to HMS Beagle what so ever?? Then others saying there were two different issues, one being a Heller moulding? anyone know which one this is??

. . . R&D
According to Scalemates there are 2 different Beagles by Revell. Their original 1963 release, which you appear to have looking at the box art, is in 1/74th scale. The Heller repop, also originally 1963, is in 1/96th. I can't comment on accuracy but they look quite similar to me. A google search should throw up some pictures.

Now that's a kit that Airfix should make, the Percival Pembroke / Sea Prince.

I have some great ideas for the Kylo Ren Shuttle

I also got this. It was in the clearance section at my local Hobby Lobby for $3. How could I NOT pick it up?

Nice finds, Dirk! Please let us know how the Star Wars builds go - I've been eyeing those and the Bandai kits.

If it would be just the latest purchases ...
- Airfix A02022 1:72 Douglas Dauntless SBD 3/5 (Re-Release)
- Airfix A01005 1:72 Mitsubishi Zero (new tool)
- Zvezda 500787016 - 1:144 Ekranoplan A-90
- Revell 04171 - Focke Wulf FW 190 F-8 1:72

But all the piles of the previous purchases ... The sickness of about every model builder, to buy more as probably possible to built in a lifetime. :-)

Some of my piles:

Two arrivals today; the Hobbyboss 'Pola' is very nicely moulded and looks to be nicely thought out in terms of build stages. The Bandai Y-wing is simply stunning (as have been the X-wing and Tie fighters) and I can't wait to have an excuse to get stuck in....
Any interest in a Star Wars GB? Image Image Or a nautical one for that matter? :-D

The old Revell F-16 prototype kit. Shameless nostalgia, as I built it in the summer holidays when I was 11.

The Vindicate is just because it's an FAA type. Do I need any other reason? :ha:

I built that last year (and still have the Netherlands MLU version in the stash); it's a great kit and looks really striking in the prototype scheme
