Anything which requires gloss paint. As an adherent of the hairy stick, there's no way I could get a good enough finish. So, no cars, trucks or motorcycles for me.

I've never built any sort of car model. Did try a truck, once. Haven't done many larger scale figures. No trains either, although I did have Revell's 1/87th Big Boy loco. Sold it though!.
Hoping to return to modelling sometime this year!!

Ah, that's another never done from me; trains!

Oh, and anything in French or Italian markings (although I have built aircraft designed/built in both countries)
Best wishes

For me it's large scale figures. I would like to try my hand at it but I certainly lack the skills for that. I do have a large number of 1/32 German figures and equipment and some vehicles for a diorama and that's another think I'd like to have a go at.
Also like Alan I have yet to do a total scratch build.
All the best.

Well, that is a bit self-sustaining that way. The only way to build up the skills is to dive in and do it. There's a few people here who I suspect will be more than happy to supply (no doubt contradictory) advice should you want/need some or get stuck. You don't need to break the bank for the figures either; the Miniart figures can be found for a bit over 10 pounds (double that for mounted figures).

Best wishes

Interesting idea....

I once scratch built an Armstrong Whitworth Argosy from soft balsa and wood filler for the surface covering (not a brilliant idea, it resisted to the end my efforts to coat the balsa with it. Once on though it was easily sanded and made a tough surface).

Never done a train, but I'd quite like to. Some obscure and colourful diesel maybe.

Never done a dinosaur or animal, just doesn't appeal as a kit subject.

Never done a (non-military) lorry/truck. If I did it would have to be in 1/43 scale to go with the few diecasts I own, and I'm not sure such a thing exists.

Never finished a vac-form. I started a Contrail Avro York conversion when I was 14, but the wing roots were paper thin where they were supposed to take the Airfix Lanc wings, and I just got frustrated trying to make the join strong enough. Surface detail was crude too, as I remember.

I wish there were more kits available of modern construction vehicles. They'd be cool to build.

Much though I like the concept, "out of my comfort zone" tends to imply "couldn't care less about the subject". Not the greatest of motivators..

Evening Everyone
I've never built a Spitfire, or Huricane, or a Lancaster....
Actually, baring a Vampire, I've never built a modern jet either...
(waiting for the screams of heresy to subside :) )
Cars and bikes and tanks is about it, with a few figures, biplanes, ships, sci fi thingies, trucks, moonrakers, added in along the way.
I can honestly say, I've never built a Dinosaur, or a horse for that matter...

Welcome Steve, and a great 'confession' to start with!
Actually, you've reminded me that I've never made an animal of any description!

The other admissions may cause a few snapped pipe stems mind you!
Best wishes
