Loss in my model club
Loss in my model club
Feeling blue today as my local band of pirates lost our secretary/chapter contact, William Conley. Bill has been a fixture in our club for 38 years. He is a USAF retiree.
He will sure be missed.

Sad news, 38 years is a big chunk of life to dedicate to something so respect due. Plus USAF is something too, do you know what he did?.jssel wrote:Feeling blue today as my local band of pirates lost our secretary/chapter contact, William Conley. Hoping to return to modelling sometime this year!!

Re: Loss in my model club
From time to time, life gives us an individual who inspires and leads without the need for reward or praise. They are usually the people we miss most.
Best wishes

Re: Loss in my model club
Sorry to hear that, Jeff, one of our members passed yesterday also. He was noted for meticulously kit-bashing quirky 109 variants in 1/72 and for converting 3 different HO diesel engines into 3 completely different engines, again meticulously.

Bill was NCOIC of the dental clinic at the local air base K I Sawyer. Did a couple of tours in England at RAF Bentwaters and RAF Upper Heyford. Upon retirement was pilot training records person for American Eagle airline. Bill was a bit of an authority on the 410BG and loved the A-20.

Re: Loss in my model club
It's always sad when a club loses a long standing member. I've been with my club for over 30 years and in that time, we have lost a fair number.

Many condolences Jeff. Sounds like your friend was a great guy. It's hard when a close friend passes. Sometimes they're closer than family.
