Got something to say about the hobby of model making?

Atlas editions. Interesting releases.

Post by Chuck E »

Not modelling, as such, but Atlas Editions have a few interesting ranges out. Just a Heads Up.

A Jet Age set starts with a rather nice 1/144th Vulcan B2. It's only £1.99! This is to be followed with the USAF B2 for £9.99. There are some other C-17 Globemaster, for instance. Other, smaller aircraft are in the series, though the scales vary from 1/72 to 1/96 to 1/144.

The Liners set starts with Titanic, but there are some nice liners in the pipeline. SS France is one.

They have also started producing DINKY Supertoys in replica boxes. These are a replica of the old Dinky Toys from the 50's and 60's. The first is the lovely Leyland Octopus ESSO Tanker.. The next is the Guy Warrior Heinz 57 Van. Two of my favourites in the first two issues. The quality is excellent.
So many models, so little time.

I get their adverts and so on quite a lot, wasn't sure if they were okay company wise (just me worrying). I thought you'd never get rid of them once you start ordering! .
Hoping to return to modelling sometime this year!!

They do keep sending mail shots once they have your details.

You get a few mail shots, but nothing much. You can cancel easily enough.

Its not just how good your painting is, its how good the touch-ups are too.

Atlas is the same company that issued the Tintin car collection some years ago. After some time the cars were available in normal shops or the official Tintin-store. No risk for collectors when buying one from these sources. But.......be careful with the Atlas company. Once you have ordered a model from one of their collections it is difficult to stop them. Just google and you will find the experiences of others.

I have 36 models from Atlas,a few years ago,I had a job that left no time for modelling so I got my fix by buying these diecasts. :)
I even have a Tiger Tank :-DThe aircraft range from 1/144 to 1/200 and the tank is 1/72.

Yes, I chased them for that. I was collecting the Battleships. They soon took the hint.
