On balance I take this to be good news; at the very least it may give Hornby a period of stability and time for their revised stock and distribution to show benefits and a return to profit

Fingers crossed for the future of Hornby. I just hope their turnaround plan is viable and not a reckless cost-cutting exercise.

I wonder if this means less "Internet and big retailer only" sales by Airfix?

According the the BBC , Hornby have told shareholders to take no action at the moment. They feel the offer under values the company.
