Re: Longest running subject requests?
A Westland Wasp in 1/72 & 1/48 would be nice.
My work bench is starting to look like Portsmouth Naval Dockyard.
Re: Longest running subject requests?
Iirc Fujimi did a 48 scale Wasp. Hard to find kit now though.

An AH-1G Cobra or as I say the Legacy Cobra in 1/48 scale
Besting 60 years of mediocre building of average kits in the stand off scale

Lincoln would be nice but Flightpath do a decent conversion set for a Lanc that is reasonably priced (to me anyway), around £35. It sounds a lot but there are engines, props, nose section, fuselage extension, wing tip extensions, and new vac form clear parts. Sounds like I'm selling for them but it was easily used and I made a good result from it!!Saxon wrote:Thought this could be an interesting discussion. For quite some time the Valiant in 1/72 would have been one of the most sought after subjects. It goes back to the original Airfix forum and probably even earlier.
So what other subjects have been requested for a long time but are yet to be produced by any major manufacturer?
I think the Avro Lincoln in 1/72 would be another contender.
1/72 Supermarine Scimitar.
1/72 Skyraider AEW.
New tool Vulcan?
Any others?
Yeah they did. It's hard to find now though. I think it was a bit pricey as well when it came out.
I can't justify $60 Aussie on a conversion set. Knowing my luck if I bought it Airfix would release an Avro Lincoln the next day. Similar happened to me when I bought a vac form Valiant!

Re: Longest running subject requests?
I have one and it's a dog of a kit, considering its 1/48 any below average 1/72 scale kits of the 70's have better detailGregers wrote:Iirc Fujimi did a 48 scale Wasp. Hard to find kit now though.

There are overlaps but I was curious to compile a list of long sought after subjects. Just curious really.JamesPerrin wrote:I'm not sure how this thread is differing from any other wish list but....

A decent 1/72nd scale Mig-19 would be nice. Trumpeter have been promising one for ages but singularly failed to deliver.

Re: Longest running subject requests?
Yes, a MiG-19 that is younger than me would be nice, the KP kit does its best but it can't really compete these days. Also could Mr. Airfix (if he's reading) consider re-popping the Cessna O-2 so I don't have to bankrupt myself on Ebay? A 1/72 Alouette II wouldn't hurt either, if we're shooting for the moon.

I´ve done the Accurate Miniatures in 1/48 and it´s one of my favourite kits! Deserves a decent airfix version too I reckon.
