Historic 2017 Bradley-Skypirate Summit

Post by skypirate »

My wife and I were delighted to meet Paul Bradley last week.
We are touring the USA and took the opportunity to look Paul up when we passed through Flagstaff. Paul very kindly showed us around town, and allowed me to inspect his built models on display in his home, and even his very respectable stash!
Unfortunately our summit meeting was too short.
Thanks, Paul! Maybe Australia next time.

Cheers,

David

That's great! What a tribute to this forum, and the friendships that exist between the members.....

Hope you enjoy the rest of the trip David, although the rest of the States has now got a lot to live up to :-D
Best wishes

Jim

Terrific to meet you and Carmel, David - I had a lovely evening. It's one US/Australia Summit that went well....

I hope the rest of your trip goes well, and have fun at the Convention! 8-)

Well, I'm back home. Nursing 3 broken ribs. It was tough at the vendor stalls at the 2017 USA IPMS Nats!
Meanwhile, I have downloaded all the photos from my camera and here is a picture of the historic summit in Flagstaff last month.

Not a workbench in sight!

Good to see you both looking so well. It's always funny meeting people from the forum as often the only image you have of them is their avatar. If I ever get to meet JRatz I will be disappointed if he's not a green frog

3 broken ribs! Do tell!

So, we're expecting a full debrief on your trip soon! With lots of photos. 8-)

Great to meet you and Carmel - I hope she enjoyed the rest of the trip and that she wasn't TOO bored at the convention..... ;-)

Fell off my bike while dismounting in Central Park, NYC on 18 July. Fell heavily backwards against a low timber fence bordering the roadway. Ouch!! (polite version)
Fortunately, just a few blocks from Lenox Hill Hospital where they did the X-rays and prescribed the painkillers.
I am still on the painkillers - it will take a few more weeks to heal. Meanwhile, I can sleep better sitting up.
Could have been worse!

I have 287 photos taken at the IPMS Nats competition tables. I will post a selection in due course.

Carmel was very patient through all the aviation museums and the IPMS Nats (where we met my long-lost Canadian buddies). She literally had to carry my bags after the New York incident. She particularly loved Flagstaff, Jackson Hole and Hawaii.

Cheers,

David

It is good to meet other members of the UAMF family at shows and what have you. I've had the pleasure of meeting Paul at Telford on a couple of occasions and if you can make the trip, David, it would be great to meet you too. You will recognise James easily enough as he does indeed look like his avatar :ha: Hope the ribs are back to normal soon!
