Old model books and instructions.

Post by Chuck E »

I have been scanning some old model catalogues etc. Here are some details.

As with all of my scans and photos, feel free to use them for your personal use.

Nice collection. I have the firs tissue of Airfix Magazine as well - it is interesting t see what has changed and what's not over the years with the latest incarnation of the mag.

Very nice display, thanks for sharing.
I have the full run of Airfix Magazine - I still think that the old magazines have more modeling and historical content in one issue than current ones have in a year.

It's my model and I'll do what I want with it.

I love to read through these. When you consider what kits were available to us in the early days, it could be tricky to build a particular version. Much careful carving of balsa wood and cardboard. Deft use of matchsticks and the old wooden matchboxes. I still found it thoroughly entertaining and great fun to do. These days we have so much to choose from. I still try to recreate the feelings that kept me so attracted to the hobby.
