FS16473
FS16473
Hi all.I have been given a F-102A Delta Dart in 1/72 by Hasegawa and the paint scheme calls for FS16473,it equates to H146 but Humbrol have discontinued that shade! Can anybody suggest an alternative?I have tried other Humbrol greys and none come close.

Re: FS16473
My Humbrol chart gives these as alternatives to H146. Testor 1731,or Gunze Sangyo 61. I don't know of their availability where you are though. Good luck.

Hi Clashcityrocker, both of the alternatives are impossible to get, here in the valleys I think I will have to use whatever I have got in my paint stock. :roll:Thanks for the help, much appreciated.

Al speling misteaks aer all mi own werk..
Its not just how good your painting is, its how good the touch-ups are too.

Hi fredk,I dont usually do aircraft after WW2,so I would not know if h129 is that far off if you say its suitable than I will take your word for it,not one of my usual colours.I feel a trip to the LMS is in order.fredk wrote:What about Humbrol 129? Its not too far off

Re: FS16473
Hmmm... I'd have some reservations about that. 129 has a hint of dirty brown/beige in it (as it should), ADC grey is neutral with maybe just a hint of blue. In addition to the hints given in the IPMS Stockholm charts (note two entries for FS16473), you might want to take a peek at 166 (matches the description of the XTracolor equivalent from the chart).fredk wrote:What about Humbrol 129? Vallejo 883 (silvergrey 152) is a close match. I use it for all VNAF undersides with SEA scheme.
