Testing the water: Secret Santa 2017?
Testing the water: Secret Santa 2017?
Hi, all... we've done this before...
Is there interest in having a "Secret Santa" kitswap and GB this year?
Rules are:
Participants register interest before Dec 1st 2017
Participants are assigned a "Secret Santa" partner, and post a kit to them, at their own expense.
Recipients agree to build said kit before end February 2018, in a GB forum that runs 26 Dec 2017 - 28 Feb 2018
Guidelines:
Cost of kit plus postage not to exceed £15/$20
Use of kits from stash positively encouraged (your call if sending a stash kit counts towards the cash limit; you can treat it as "free" if you like)
You should familiarise yourself with your happy recipient ("victim") and their tastes, and choose something they have some interest in building!
We'll make sure no one is hit for international postage (but you can order from a local emporium if you choose)
I reckon we need a minimum of six participants to make this work, so indicate your interest using the poll.
I'll "admin" and assign giftees to givers.
What say you all?
best,
M.

Yep, I'm up for it again
That said, can we have an understanding that if the recipient is unable to build the kit during the set time for whatever reason it is returned?

Re: Testing the water: Secret Santa 2017?
I was able to play in the 13/14 one and my Santa really made a great pick that I had a lot of fun building.
I'm just not sure I can participate in this one; I am behind on an armor conversion project, as in not yet started and that's pretty much what will be center of my workbench from early December until .....

It's my model and I'll do what I want with it.

Love to take part, but too short of cash this Christmas to participate. Maybe next year.

Re: Testing the water: Secret Santa 2017?
looks like its getting a little late. I doubt any packages that need to cross the sea, would make it in time for the holiday.
Re: Testing the water: Secret Santa 2017?
Sorry guys.. there really aren't enough takers to make it a goer this year. Let's see how people are feeling next November.
In the mean time, I'm sure we have enough in our stashes to join in with a January Blitzbau if we feel like it!
best,
M.
