This should cheer you up.

Got something to say about the hobby of model making?

Agreed. And we mustn't forget the bribery of European politicians and the corruption at Lockheed at the time.

The SR-53 evolved into the SR-177, the full story is here in this video:

Hope you find it interesting.

My boxing arrived yesterday and on a whim I started it this morning.

It seems rather nice for a short run kit. You only get one sprue (+the clear obviously) and there aren't many parts (even less if you build the version without the 6 part Firestreaks) but they seem nicely moulded in a dark grey soft plastic. The surface detail is a little soft and I might run a scriber around it. There's not much flash to deal with, or pin marks - all in all not a bad effort.

The cockpit is nice, and seems to fit together well, as does the nose gear bay.

Cheers

My AZM7578 "Prototype" kit also arrived yesterday. It is safely in the stash for now, I want to visit RAFM Cosford to see the real thing before starting on this kit.

What's nice for those of you that will be building the prototype with no wing tip missiles is that the normal tips are moulded on. If you want to fit missiles you have to remove the tips to fit the rails.

Coming on a treat Stuart, and it looks like a nice little kit

Well certainly nicer than the truly hideous kit I wrestled with a while back (shudder), this one:

Man, it was grim! Nothing fitted, at all, anywhere and the plastic could best be described, if being polite, as 'Textured'. Decals are from the spares box because the kit came with........ stickers! I kid you not.
