According to the advertising blurb he is an "acknowledged author".

...do they mean "acclaimed"? I mean, anyone who has, or has seen, the Hunter book would have to acknowledge that Paul is, indeed, an author... whether he's any good at it or not is another thing entirely ;-P

Belated on congrats on seeing the Firefly farrago through to the end, Paul... so glad that it's finally seen the light of day.

bestest,
M.

Cheers, Matt - I appreciate it! It has been quite a journey; I hope people are finding it enjoyable and of value. I have another on the stocks and am waiting for the green light - the subject matter will remain under wraps for the time being, but if you liked the Firefly, you'll enjoy the next one. 8-)

In all seriousness I was pleased to see the Firefly book arrive as I was delighted to see it, back when it was announced as a full scale MDF book. Then it seemed to be forgotten and disappear, and that was annoying. Now it's returned I'm definitely happy!.

Picked up the inimitable Ray Rimell's World War One In The Air for €5 in Vibes & Scribes in Cork. Some great photos and lots of useful information.

If anyone is planning to build any of the Town Class Cruisers, this is an excellent source of information, each of the ships has a chapter taking you through from the individual ships planning and construction to their final days.

Good B/W photos of each ship but unfortunately no colour or plans.

A chap in my work (whom I've only really spoken to once, but he saw 'Wings on my sleeve' and 'First light' on my desk ) just dropped off ten, mostly wartime vintage, books and booklets.
The haul includes -
The Last Enemy - Richard Hillary (1942 print)
The boys of Coastal
Glasgow's fighter squadron
Ten fighter boys
A record of 603 Squadron
Libyan log
The greatest people in the world
Home from Dunkirk
1946 RAF Journal
and
Farewell to wings by Cecil Lewis

Not of massive help to modelling due to wartime censorship, but some interesting (and gloriously un-PC!) reading
"Spits, SLUFS and Rock 'n' Roll"
