Got something to say about the hobby of model making?

A couple of recent purchases. First, the latest Aircraft of the Aces by Osprey deals with one of my faves:

It deals with all Fokker D.XXI users, despite the fact that there were no Dutch aces, and the Danish ones didn't get off the ground. The story of Dutch service is particularly interesting, and what the Finns did to the Soviets... :-D I have both Classic Airframes kits, old and new, and this is a great reference for when I get around to doing them...

And from The Bay:

Old, but still very useful, it has lots of photos I've not seen before. I'd like to know what our Aussie friends think of this before I get the second volume - is it still relevant, or has the info been superceded?

Picked this up from the book seller in the Hospital Lobby the other day for just £4.00 (usual RRP £14.99) looks quite interesting:

A late birthday present arrived

Plenty of detail in there, but Cooper's prose isn't as interesting as Paul Brickhill's.

cheers

Added this one as well, sort of an add on to Bader's story!

Just back from a holiday to South West Scotland, my fathers birth place. Had to include a visit to Wigtown, Scotland's Book Town, the place is full of second hand bookshops! Picked up the following:
The Caterpiller Club, brand new about 25% of published price!
Norfolk Airfields In The Second World War
Tartan Airforce, a centenary of flight in Scotland
Osprey's Aircraft Of The Aces, Spitfire Mk I/II, P47 in the 8th AF, P51 in the 8th AF, P38 in the 8th AF
Lancaster At War vols 1,2 & 3
Fighter Squadrons Of The RAF
Combat Codes Of The RAF, Commonwealth & USAAF
the last two were superb bargains at £8.50 each! I couldn't fit anymore books in the car with a wife & three kids belongings!

Paul is right. Hasn't she heard of public transport?
A good haul of books. Those last 2 sound like really good reference for building!

Picked up a number of Squadron 'in action' titles that were on sale, as well as about a dozen Osprey campaign series. Also added these two, long sought after to add to my American aircraft one that I already have:

Gosh, I remember those last two! An essential part of my library, 30 years ago! Still have the Axis one...

I picked up re-print of these quite recently too. Very handy for the odd WWII subject that comes my way has I don't keep much in the way of reference for that period.

My wife did pick the British one up in our local British Heart Foundation charity shop & I got the US one from Amazon for £1. As she does things like that & has been very indulgent of Modelzone, including encouraging me to buy things I couldn't leave her behind - besides which I'd have had to put up with 3 kids on my own!
