Airfix A-4 Skyhawk

Post by IrishAir »

New boxart and info available about this kit, I'm not much of a jet person but I have to say that Argentinian scheme is tempting me.

Still, I've something of a soft spot for the "scooter", so I might grab one of these at some point.

Looks good in the plastic. Will reserve judgement until I get one and build it though. Separate slats are a nice touch and dropping the flaps should be easy. I would have liked to see some more decal options though like Israeli and 'Jester' from Top Gun for instance, bits to make the later humpback scooters and both types of I-R probes would have been nice but from the pics it looks like a damn good effort anyways and the aftermarket boys (And Girls) should have a field day with this one.

All the best.

Heh. I wasn't going to ask but, as it's been mentioned already; are these really as manuoverable as TopGun would have us think ? I suppose they would be compaired to an F14 ?

That will definately be added to my stash. Fond memories of my Matchbox kit from back in the day had me looking on eBay for one recently.

Frack, I wish these new airfix kits weren't such a drag to come by in my neck of the woods. I'm just getting stuff that was released last year. Now that the company has come to terms with their trench issue, I'm actually interested in getting some of the new kits.

This one is near the top of the list.
