Very good documentary on RAF Medmenham. Good footage of a Spitfire XI PA944 of the 7th PRG flying at RAF Mount Farm. Excellent shots of Peenemunde,Wizernes and Watten. The modern day Spitfire PR shots were attributed to Peter Teichmanns Spit at North Weald.

If you want to read about the whole story including bending of the beams, V1 & V2 & a whole host of other things that Prof. R V Jones did during the war as a scientist. Including reporting & to Churchill & standing up to Prof Linderman Churchill's top consultant. An incredible story. And he was only 28 at the time.

Most Secret War by R V Jones.

I found the hype annoying, unnecessary and misleading. There is a world of difference between a stereographic image and the 3D images that were shown on the programme. As is usually the case with these documentaries the pure gold was in veterans telling their tales mixed with good contemporaneous archive film. The Spitfire belly landing footage was amazing and you were listening to the bloke who flew it, incredible.

I agree with peebeep they completely misguided the audience with regards the "3D". The computer generated landscape are not what the PI's saw. Stereographic images are from a fix view point, in this case 30,000ft.

Wasn't there a book called Sledgehammer for Tintacks (or something simular) about Bomber Command ops during Operation Crossbow? It was a few years ago. Was it of some value?

Hear, hear! For some inexplicable reason BBC have excluded all the rest of the world from watching i-Player. Managed to miss the documentary, so I'll have to wait for a repeat at some later time.
