Next generation of modelmakers- son of Mikeew
My boy Ethan is making some more models, keeping the spirit alive with the younger generation.
We went to Shoreham Aerojumble a couple of weeks ago and he picked up a couple of Helicopter models, a Revell 1/72 Huey and Airfix 1/72 Navy Lynx with his pocket money, the two for a fiver was a bargain in anyones book
He has made a great start on both and here he is working on the Huey, he painted the interior with the colours called out in the instructions, I was in a supervisory role only, letting him do it all only helping if he asked or was struggling ( and keeping a beady eye on avoiding spillages!). He seems like a natural though. He watched me sanding seams on my SAM builds at my workbench and asked if he could do it on his helicopters so I showed him what to do and away he went
He wants to put them in a competition, maybe at Hendon next month...hmmm....we,ll see

Like they say Mike, the acorn doesn't fall far from the tree. Well done Ethan.

Nice one, my first model didn't look half as good and I was double your age!!

Looks lovely. Helos can be tricky kits.

The young man does a good job. When does he get his own airbrush? Lyell...

By 'eckers, like, Mike! Is it true that your boy is locked in your modelling room and not exposed to XBox, TV and Sony?
Seeing that pic makes me feel very, very old!
Best Regards,

Well done Ethan , I think i was about his age doing the same thing watching my dad . My lad Nathan is very much into Star Wars and I've helped him build a couple of the Revell easy kits .

Way to go Ethan! That's a really nice Huey you built and painted. You're lucky, your dad is a great teacher.
