Got something to say about the hobby of model making?

Canberra canopy

Post by Chuck E »

Have any of you had this issue with the new Airfix Canberra Canopy in 1/48th ? Two fault lines right through the plastic.
I have two including a replacement that has this fault and Bobcatfish has about 5 or 6. All the same issue. It looks like a moulding fault.

Not a very clear shot, but the fault lines are easy to see.
So many models, so little time.

Tried that. It makes it look nice and shiney, but the fault line remains noticeable. :-|

My replacement Airfix Sabre canopy had the same chipped front edge as the one it was meant to replace!

Check out A2Zee IIRC they have some replacement canopies for the Airfix parts.

Those lines look like the one that runs right across the canopy on my Roden OV-1C which I am pretending doesn't exist right now. Hopefully it will polish out but I have an idea it won't.

I'm building this at the moment but hadn't loked at the canopy yet. When I checked, sure enough, there's a couple of fault lines.
