Your mustang looks good, Stu.

Sorry to hear about your son's accident. Any serious burns?

No he's fine thank goodness - I stripped him off in the middle of the cafe, marched into the kitchen, shoved him into the sink under the cold tap and drenched him in cold water - they then gave us a bag of peas (and a free lunch) which I held on his legs while he sat on my wifes lap - 20 minutes later he was charging around the tea rooms in just his nappy.

I kept an eye on him through the rest of the day, and by the tine he went to bed his legs were their normal pink and all the red had gone - we were very very lucky - it wasn't until I went to bed that the panic kicked in and I considered what might have happened - it wasn't a great night :)

Still - at least I got some work done on the Mustang - thanks! I'm reasonably pleased with it!

Thank goodness the young lad is OK, that could have been very nasty indeed. On a brighter note, the Mustang and pair of loaves look good Stuart

Thanks Shaun - they tasted good too (the loaves, not the Mustang :ha: )

Yes we were very lucky. What might have happened doesn't bare thinking about...

Cheers

It's like that with kids unfortunately. I'm surprised I didn't have my own parking space outside of A and E when my boy was little

Glad the little fella's OK though :)

Agreed - he is very accident prone - he's always running into things and falling over. At least this wasn't his fault for once!

Daughter number two was like that. Broke the same wrist twice (in different locations) climbing trees. Now she is a X-Ray Tech. Funny how that works.

Glad all is getting back to normal.

SWMBO got me a tee-shirt that reads "Nothings scares me, I raised daughters."

I’m building a couple of Hobbyboss 1/72 Easy-build Mig-15s for ‘Iron Curtain GB’ - A Mig-15bis ‘Fagot’ and a Mig-15uti ‘Midget’.

These are some really nice kits that are simple to build(one piece wing – fin moulded to upper fuselage) but nicely detailed. So far I have only really made progress on the Fagot– I have completed the cockpit and added a paper IP and some tin foil seat belts. I painted the sidewalls, blacked out the boxes and then drybrushed over silver - pretty standard stuff. I might add a wash of indian ink at somepoint, and maybe muddy the floor up a bit more.

Image

Image

The IP was one of about 100 I have printed out on a sheet of A4 (downloaded from 3D-kits), it's a bit crude but looks ok through the clear part (I had to re-size it)

And with the tail on:

I was thinking I might try and scratch some sort of gunsight before the canopy goes on.

This Aircraft will be in Albanian Airforce Markings.

Cheers

I've been in York for a few days, so I had the chance to visit the model shopat Monk Bar.

I picked up some flock and a Airfix DHC Chipmunk.

Image

Only 24 parts! Looks a nice enough kit actually so I've painted the interior black and will knock it up over the next few days.

I've also finished the Silver on my Mig-15 for the Iron Curtain GB.

Cheers

Well I'm progressing nicely with the chipmunk (as I couldn't work on the Mig today).

This is where I was last night after about an hours work over the weekend.

Image

For some reason I fancied a bit of nostalgia building with this one - so out came the tube glue and some nail files etc.

I've progressed a bit more with this today - I've painted the white stripes and added a bit more paint to the pilots - I even mixed my own fleash colour out of acrylics as I didn't have my enamels with me - worked out well.
Although I couldn't be bothered to add cockpit detail as the pilots should suffice, I wish now that I'd drilled out the intake on the front cowling... perhaps I'll do it anyway and see if I can add some basic engine detail through the hole. I might even change the exhaust as the kit one it incorrect.

I wish they'd added a silver or a Red/White/Grey scheme to this kit - they were far nicer schemes than the all black but ho-hum I guess you take what you can get (there are some goos aftermarket sheets but they are a tad expensive).

Cheers for now

Some great looking subjects on the go Stuart. We're going to York next month. Despite living only 25 miles away, I haven't been for years. Monk Bar models will be on my "to visit" list, naturally. Just don't tell the wife :ha:
