Excellent improvisation, a man after my own heart. As we would say in Yorkshire "why buy dear wire from t' model shop when tha can get it for nowt from t' wife's freezer bags?"AndrewR wrote:Bits of wire from a freezer bag tie.Clashcityrocker wrote:Very nice. Staples for the light guards?

One of the wire guards fell off
I still have to add the mudguards. I forgot to paint the rear ones. They are now in the paint shop. Meanwhile, the Desert Eurofighter is progressing nicely:
You can't see the Azure undersides in the photo. The Dark Earth will go on once my silly putty arrives for masking!

Got to get back to the Fokker today. I got a bit fed up with the poor fit of the fuselage.Clashcityrocker wrote:A very pleasing mix of subjects.

Yes indeed, the Desert Eurofighter and the Cromwell are a good pair of subjects and I will get me one of those Airfix Cromwells, I haven't built a new tool tank yet.

USAF Green sprayed on the Strikemaster:
Camouflage green to go on after more masking.
Meanwhile the Eurofighter gets a coat of Dark Earth, or in this case Model Colour English Uniform.
The port side of the rudder will need a coat of the brown. I had to apply another coat of Middle Stone to get the coverage uniform.

Here's the Strikemaster after a coat of Camouflage Green
I think a little more variation between the greens might have been better, but still, it's quite passable.

Excellent, the silly putty has worked very well to give a nice edge on both schemes. Is the putty less sticky than blu-tak, which can sometimes be a little difficult to remove?

Yes it is much less tacky. Just enough to stay on the plastic. It also doesn't release any oils, which can leave a mark on the surface.ShaunW wrote:Excellent, the silly putty has worked very well to give a nice edge on both schemes.
