Stirling Mk.1 1:72 Italeri
Stirling Mk.1 1:72 Italeri
I have started working on a Stirling Mk.1 bomber. It has a 1:72 scale and is made by Italeri with model No 1335. I will post trough out the whole making proces and i am hoping to get feedback on my work. I havent painted or sprayed models before so for now i'll just leave it the grey colour but tips for starting painting models are welcome. I am working on using as less glue as possible and i am hoping to finish the stirling of nicely.
All feedback and tips are welcome!

That’s a smart looking cockpit.
My work bench is starting to look like Portsmouth Naval Dockyard.

I have this kit to build one day so will be watching with interest. You look to have made a good start
Best wishes

If you can walk away from a landing, it's a good landing. If you use the airplane the next day, it's an outstanding landing

Nice work on the cockpit and the instrument panel.

That looks like a nice kit. I would suggest the best way to start painting it would be to get a few paints and a brush and start! Theres a lot of black on that plane so maybe a spray can of matt black would be a start and then brush paint the upper surfaces.

This is all very interesting, Armand and it looks to be a great kit that has been well constructed so far but are you going to paint it? If so I fear that you've left it a bit late for some of those details. It might be worth leaving it as an unpainted example like those often displayed by the kit manufacturers at model shows. Building a model well that is totally unpainted is more difficult than people might imagine.

That's looking very nice Armand. How is the fit of the kit? Really like that box art too.
Regarding painting the best way to start off is by washing the kit while it's on the sprue and also priming. You can get a big can of primer from Halfords. Then as Stamford said, get a few paints and a brush and dive right in. A few thin coats will give the best finish.

Re: Stirling Mk.1 1:72 Italeri
i thought about this to and i rather leave this one unpainted then try and ruin the model. so i'll just focus on making the model as best as i can and later trying painting an a cheaper model.ShaunW wrote:This is all very interesting, Armand and it looks to be a great kit that has been well constructed so far but are you going to paint it?
