Excellent work PT, that really captures the eerie essence of the comic cover IMHO. Another one of your great figure conversions!

Re: Purplethistles patch
Apart from having to hand paint the dragons on the sides, and issues fitting a pudgy pilot into a small seat, this one just fell together.

Re: Purplethistles patch
I've seen this in the aviation section as well and it is certainly a great piece of brush work PT. Have you got an artistic background?

Re: Purplethistles patch
Well, I'd class myself as an artist who dabbles in modelling, because sometimes two dimensions just aren't enough.
As a kid I wanted to be a Commando comics artist ( if fighter pilot or rock star didn't pan out )
I paint mostly transport subjects, old buses, trucks, fire appliances, puffers and paddle steamers with scenic or fondly remembered buildings backgrounds. More recently I've discovered that there's a market for Rock related nostalgia - old venues, live music pubs and record shops from the 70's and early 80s.

Wow that is great work on the dragon, brings the model to life, as if it could fly of the cover
A start on my first kit a Hawker Hurricane as been made, a spitfire awaits in the wings and thinking about models to come.
