Well extraction from the danger zone would definitely be more problematic if she were Venus de Milo.

If you can walk away from a landing, it's a good landing. If you use the airplane the next day, it's an outstanding landing

Looking forward to the future build! Did you sculpt before or is all this just from your time making models? Always fun watching the conversions.

I've not really sculpted a full figure before, but in some of the conversions I've had to make new forearms and reshape heads or add hair with Milliput so I've kinda worked my way up to it.PGAS wrote:Looking forward to the future build! The Polish Lancer kit has arrived, and whilst waiting for it I Googled galloping horses to figure how the hind legs would be, as they're not visible in the painting. Not being very horsey, I sought advice from more equestrian folks who all (3) said that the position of the front legs didn't look right, "More like a greyhound than a horse" and "Maybe for a colt, frolicking about, but not with two people on!" .....the consensus was that the horse was not going to be upright much longer so I don't think I'll be slavishly copying the painting, maybe just some slight alteration to a more dramatic pose.

The horse looks to me like he's going around a corner; the position of the (clothed) rider however doesn't fit with that as he is sitting bolt upright. I'm not sure that the other rider really knows what the heck is going on

I think your equestrian friends were right.
The horse is pictured at the moment before total collapse under the weight of that buxom boudoir Olympian.

I've given a lot of consideration as to her weight distribution and arrived at (smut avoided!) the conclusion that it is more to the right of the viewpoint, and therefore likely to overbalance Dobbin.skypirate wrote:I think your equestrian friends were right.

So, work has started after an absence of a couple of months to do some paintings. The Scotia, a famous live music and arts pub in Glasgow, started a 'Featured Artist' display and for the first one it was me! Currently doing a couple of very 'involved' paintings like this recently finished one of the famous 'Listen Records' in Glasgow, where as a lad I spent many a Saturday afternoon. I include it here because I imagine a few folks will recall the 'Battlezone' video game
Back to the kit!......So far just some sanding off of original details like buttons down the riders trousers and his body halves join to make him leaning well forward rather than sitting upright. The grey sprue is the Mini Art Afrika Korps panzer crew which will provide the

+1 from me as well, PT. Being able to paint brush on canvas like that is a great talent to have IMHO, my own ability to do so has not advanced since I was about 12 .Clashcityrocker wrote:Nice painting, and good to see Flashman back on the go.

Cheers Stuart,
Now to put the 'Flash' into Flashman
After much scraping and sanding (and just a tad more to do on a spot or two that showed up with the main paint going on) Valentina is about ready for detailing.
