For the last month I had a display of model aeroplanes in my local library for the RAF 100th Anniversary
I had to take down my display today so I took some photos

This display was confined to the single cabinet. The stand next to the cabinet has an information card with a short history of the RAF and a brief mention of almost every aeroplane model type in the display. The display cabinet is situated in the entrance foyer to Donaghadee Public Library

The cabinet has just five shelves, each 41 x 41 cm. I divided the 100 years up into five sections to suit the models and to get five models on each shelf. There were 27 models on display. All models except two are my own. I 'borrowed' two from the ones I have which were built by a late member of my modelling club; the two models are the Hawker Demon and BAe Hawk, built by Ronnie Fry

I've been putting displays into the library for 6 years now. It started with an Airfix [Academy] 1/700 Titanic in 2012. I've put in displays for WW1 several times - the start, the Somme, Messines, Passchendaele, for Waterloo and for a couple of other event anniversaries. We try to link a model display to some event anniversary which involved local or Irish/Ulster people

**The cabinet is missing one glass side panel. We call this the 'magic door'. Sometimes tiny fingers find their way in to touch, but I've never had anything broken or go missing, and even if I did, its no matter. I'd not put models up for display if I was to be constantly worried about getting them broken

Unusual (for me anyway) to see a Boeing Clipper in camouflage. More details please.

The RAF display really looked the part, Fred, although I note that your post on that is from May last year so I obviously missed it the first time round. Looking at the Clipper, I'm guessing that the camouflage scheme will be for wartime BOAC markings? I'm sure I read somewhere or other that Churchill flew on one.

During WW2 BOAC operated a few Boeing Clippers. They were painted in the Temperate Sea Scheme, aka TSS, of Extra Dark Sea Grey and Dark Slate Grey (actually a green) over Sky

The Airfix kit has the markings for a silver Pan-Am one which Roosevelt used and the camouflaged BOAC one Churchill usually used
I've already built the silver Pan-Am one. The pair should be on the CBK table at Telford this year

I finally got around to finding, editing and replacing the missing photos on here.
Next, I may show some current builds which are languishing on my MU shelves

Nice work Fred, I have just enjoyed catching up with the last 3-4 modes. The RAF 100 display looked great.

Is that the Matchbox/Revell Panther you finished recently? I have have that one to build and was just looking at it the other day wondering if I should start it.
