Ah, I misread you. I had it in my mind that the best bit about the kit was the markings

I for one am particularly happy to hear about the marking option :-D

Something a bit different for me

Image

Multiple launcher done

Image

Major sub assemblies all done and ready for paint

Image

Four missiles to put together next. It's a limited run kit but so far fit and detail have been very good, only downside is the sprue gates are kind of on the large side ( I know, should have taken some sprue shots to show that )

Unique and very interesting!
Sometimes the talent consists exactly in that: try five dozen times when others stop at three dozen...! (F.Labelle)
I think that modeling is a subtle mix of zen philosophy and absolute crazyness - but in my case I would not dare to specify the respective percentage of each......

Now, this is something very different and an excellent choice of subject IMHO 8-) The heavy sprue gates sound reminiscent of an Airfix New Tool kit - quite annoying when it comes to removing small delicate pieces!

Well I've never seen sprue gates like this. If you look at the sub assembly pic, the oblong part (power plant?) has a hydraulic ram on top with a rod down the side ( ok showing my lack of engineering here) . The sprue gate was the thickness of the ram and was attached to the smaller rod but also crossed it and was attached to the ram leaving the rod actually embedded in the gate

Really interesting subject and there's a lot of reference pictures of the s-125 on the web. I think you're right about the box structure. From photographs it looks to be a control/pump unit that provides power to move the launcher.

Well after 5 weeks of not touching a scrap of plastic I maybe have found something that has piqued my interest. The latest release from AMK, the 1/72 L-29 Delfin.

Nice marking options but the painting/decal instructions are a tad small (approx. A6 size for each option)

Moulding look nice and clean with some great detail work, sprue pics up next.

That looks a nice kit and better than the old KP (I think) one I have in the stash!
