Cheers, can't make up my mind whether to go for a two or three colour camo scheme; leaning towards a dark brown on stone theme.

Now that the wee guys on horses have departed to the figures gallery, I can get on with the Havoc.

Fuselage paintwork roughed out and the rotors started.

That's beginning to look suitably evil!
Best wishes

Next up is something different for me in 1/400 scale:

Image

Primary construction completed and all primed up. So far I've separated the jib sails and fore staysail from the bowsprit (gotta love the nautical terminology, oooh arr). I'm keen to attempt to rig the thing, so it may end up looking like an explosion in a string factory. The rigging might mean having to separate all the sails from the yards, that'll be fun. This'll be an occasional build as it's fitting in with more guys on horses.

Just noticed summat about the sails, the model has too many. Box art picture and others on the 'net show 3 fore, 3 main, 2 mizzen. Model has 4, 4, 3! Going to have to separate the sails after all.

Under full sail, the Victory would use 4, 4, 3 (some paintings show 4,4,4) and also could use extra sails to the side to increase the area (sorry no idea what they are called). Obviously no photos but plenty of art. Accurate? no idea

Yeah, the top extra sail is the t'gallant (topgallant). Side sails are studsails with extra bits on the yards to carry them. I think I'll go for the lower number of sails, simpler but no easier. Thanks for the observation.

Paintwork roughed out to see where everything is:

She'll have to go on the back burner for a while until I complete the guys on horses.
