Re: Stevearado's Workbench
That's really good, I like it a lot!
Best wishes

Re: Stevearado's Workbench
Thank you for the complements, Nigel and iggie. Sorry it took me this long to respond.
A couple of new builds in progress: a new Airfix A6M2 Zero, and a Hasegawa A6M3 Type 32 (old tool).
I bought the Hamp some time ago for the use its parts with the rear cockpit deck/pylon on a Hobby Boss A6M5. However, I saw a completed build on e-bay a couple of weeks ago, and decided to build it anyway. With the resulting empty hole for a cockpit, I decided to blank out the canopy on this one. The Airfix kit is intended to be for my club's "Build The Same Kit" theme in October.

Re: Stevearado's Workbench
Additional progress on the old tool Hasegawa Hamp includes boxing in the landing gear wells. This will keep anyone from being able to see up into the fuselage.
In progress:
Here, the wells are boxed in, but not completely detailed. That is still in progress. However, it allowed me to attach the lower wings and canopy. The landing gear is dryfitted along with the completed engine.
I was pleasantly surprised with the fit of the kit overall. There is some filling needed, but not too serious.
Thanks for looking.

The old Hase Zero, still looking good.
I have three of this in the the stash, so I follow with interest.

That's a really great pair of 109s. I am impressed with how the old Aurora kit turned out. Who needs new fandangled kits?
cheers,
David

Re: Stevearado's Workbench
It's March of 2017, and I'm back again. A quite a few things have been going on, and I never got around to posting. I'll start up again with what I have been working on in the past year:
The Airfix zero I was working on was completed in October 2016:
Built up as a Nakajima Zero with Rising Decals sheet for 261st Kokutai air bomber captured on Guam (along with the Planes of Fame Zero).
Also completed were two 1/700 Dragon submarines built out of the box.
HMS Trafalgar:
and a Soviet Victor III:
Finally, at the start of this year, I began work on a 1/72 Brengun Yak-1:
I halted work on this one as of January to do a massive restoration project.
Thanks for looking!

Nice finishes, what paints do you use?

Re: Stevearado's Workbench
I just built that Brengun Yak-1 a few months ago. It's a pretty nice kit, although I think the cockpit is a little overdone for that scale.
Some good looking projects going on here. Nice work!
