Amazing work on the Herc, Paul! The interior details look great, and the plane will look spectacular with the ramp down! How did you do the human figure?

Hey Fred. Not sure how far I will put the ramp down. The upper hatch will be fully up (open) but not sure about the ramp. I like it flush with the fuselage and have seen pictures of Spectre flying like this but it might also look good to have in parallel to the fuselage. Haven't quite decided yet. The figure of just a flat sheet of styrene cut to shape and styrene rod for the arms and legs. Generous amounts of crazy glue to set everything and give it some bulk.

Absolute stunner of a Macchi, and love the extras in the 1/200 Herc.
I am looking at a 1/72 Herc right now, so I can imagine how small that fuselage is.

Thank you David. I could not have done the Macchi without the decals though.

The size of this model is both a blessing and a curse. Tough to get the fingers to do what I want them to do but the inside details are easy to fill.

Wow to your Herc! I have never seen the kit but you are putting it right on my 'acquisitions' list. I like the internal work a lot.

It is a very nice little kit. The mold is getting older in some places but still nice. Plus it does not take too much room on my shelves.

I think I am finished on the inside. Paint comes next.

I made the air ducting that is on the top of the cargo compartment from lead wire and CA glue. It is comprised of 6 pieces of various sizes bent to shape.


I used the interior of the wheel well to detail the rear portion of the wing box. It actually fits nicely with minimal trimming and has some interesting detail already on it. Guns are glued into place.

I have added the little crew member, painted the interior and given everything a rather messy wash. If you are wondering why I left the one section of the cargo roof unpainted it is because the details here will cross to both halves of the fuselage and are more visible than the ribs further forward, so I have chosen to do this area after fuselage assembly. This would also keep the area clear of paint for a better bond and permit me to cover the gap left from the inside of the rudder. The area immediately under the rudder will be covered by the upper cargo door.










The fuselage has been glued together so I can install the final details over the unpainted area. The gap under the visible portion of the rudder area is now covered by greeblies and the remaining gap will be covered by the upper cargo door so no need to fill.






I temporarily installed the cargo door (not seen here) and showed this to my wife. She ACTED enthused and then rightly pointed out that there is very little of this you can see. Oh well, at least I know what is in there.

I am almost done the 202. I have only to add the antenna. That being said I could easily see blobbing the CA on the fuselage trying to add it!

Yes, they are decals. I just do not have the skills yet to do it by paint. They are in fact, Mike Grants very nice Smoke Ring decals. Saved my bacon!

I would have envious if you did them by painting them. Very good job customizing the AC-130 and paint job. My skills are not there....yet...
