hi another kit being put on the workbench is the airfix 1/600 HMS Hood, i watched an episode of ships of the clydebank on iplayer which was about the Hood and that was the trigger to start building, now i see this as a project for 2017 i'm expecting it to take a while due to the fact that i would like to build it in its 1941 guise and with very little prior knowledge of the Hood i'd welcome any input .
i wanted to glue the hull & deck together to see what i'd be working with

hoping to scratch build most of the changes if its possible

Your dry-brushing is very effective. It is much neater than anything I have done.
What's the secret, if I may ask?

hi david the new magnifying lamp helps - these were sprayed with nato black then drops of a satin/gloss black on a cocktail stick were dabbed on to the centre of any dials that needed it works better if the dial is recessed then lightly drybrush silver or white with a flat brush on to the raised detail ,dab again with a cocktail stick any coloured buttons etc and finished with a light anthrecite wash-optional

hi the cockpit on the fouga magister has been painted and the fuselage closed up and then the wings attached ,the wing root cord is less than the wing cord i didn't notice this until the wing half's had been glued so will need a fair bit of filler to blend them in

not sure the seat colour is correct but once the pilots are in place you can't see much anyway
