A great collection of Airfix and MB AFVs Craig. Google can be your friend when considering and/or taking on detail work, I use Google Images constantly when detailing kits and it has saved me a fortune in reference books in recent years!

Nice work Craig. That Centurion would certainly be welcome on the SIG display 8-)

hi daryl it's a MK 8 out of the box which is too late for the cold war fifties theme i think, unless i can convert it to a earlier centurion mark.

hi made a start on the hasegawa F9F-8 cougar a couple of days ago that's for the cold war sig display

Image
this is the progress made so far

Image
thinking of upgrading the cockpit with the photo etch it says F9F but is for the panther so trying to assess what could be used or another option might be a resin cockpit

i've also started the Airfix A-4B Skyhawk today which should be for a falkland's war display at the averoventure model club in june ,if i can get them i'd like to do it in the argentinian navy markings rather than the AF markings

Looks like you are a busy man Craig, that's certainly a busier workbench than I would like to tackle! It might be wise to take Shane's advice, there's only 7 months to Telford :ha:

i should get some time at the weekend to start painting the hulls on the ships the leander might be ready by then as well but i've lost the instruction booklet which is making final construction and then painting a bit harder , the panther decals need bleaching in a sunny window for a couple of weeks

Three more great looking builds Craig. That Falklands set contains an excellent set of warships IIRC. The Panther is a longstanding favourite of mine, I think dating back to when I first saw The Bridges at Toko-Ri back in the 70's. Best of luck finding a sunny windowsill up here!

Happy new year to you all ,i'm going to get my 2018 modeling year off the mark with some Military builds ,i was planning an xmas build of the 1/35 italeri Dodge WC-51(to display with Zis-3 Field Gun &Crew) but only the wheels were glued together so this will be worked on this month ,i have also started the 1/35 tamiya Quad &25PDR Gun for the north african campaign shared build ,along with these two builds i looked for an easy build and picked out 1/72 zvezda Panther ausf D and started building last night ,

Image
i got the suspension and wheels fitted last night
Image
and the upper hull and turret done this evening and is now ready for primmer
Image
Image
the fit on these snap fit parts is a joy (some parts have been glued using tamiya thin cement) and no filler has been used
i enjoyed this build so much that i've dug the Tiger 1 out of the stash and may do that over the weekend

cheers craig
