Thanks, guys! :) Gnomemeansgnome, I'm very glad if this is useful for you. As I said before, I'm pretty new to this, so I'm learning as I go!

A coat of Testor's "Dullcote" matt lacquer to dull the finish and protect the decals, then a dot filter with artist's oils in various shades of yellow and brown. I kept the dots more or less random, but I favoured the lighter shades on the upper surfaces, and the darker ones for the shadowy parts. Then I blended them by drawing downward with a clean brush soaked in thinner. Then a pin wash with Van Dyke brown in the small recesses.

Small chips and blemishes in the paint were simulated by wetting the surface with thinner, then flicking on reddish-brown artist's oil paint with a toothbrush, and letting it dry.

Thanks, Celt! I'd never seen the tank before either, until I saw a review for the kit. I believe it was never more than a "paper panzer". Anyway, I like its unique look, so I figured I'd try the kit!

Ha! Thanks!

I hope to make some more progress on it in the next couple of days. Maybe get the lower hull and running gear done!

Thanks, all!

Finally got going on the running gear. Road wheels and sprockets got the same treatment as the hull: red primer, hair spray, base coat of dark yellow, more hair spray, green and brown camouflage, then chipping, and a pin wash of dark brown. Worn metal on the rims and bolt heads was done with a soft graphite pencil.

Have a great weekend, and to any Canadians out there, Happy Thanksgiving!

Wheels on the left side. Right side's next, then the part I dread: assembling the individual link tracks. I have a few other projects which are bogged down at this stage!

Great work, and not a fan of that style of tracks either, though they can look pretty amazing.

Yes, I hope these will be OK. It helps that they're pretty large, and the upper run is supposed to have a sag that would be hard to achieve with one-piece vinyl tracks. Anyway, wish me luck! :)

If it ends up looking anywhere near as great as the Panther and the StuG I am sure you will do fine. And Happy Thanksgiving!

From what I can see so far, you are a master of armour finishing!
