Good to see some action on here again David. The Griffon P-51 is intriguing!

The join looks seamless! I hope you find the prop soon
Best wishes

Re: David's Dithering Desk
Interesting projects on the go David. I've never used silly putty but regularly use Blutak for hard-edged camo schemes and I prefer to press it flat as you have done there with the putty. I find that masking with Blutak "sausages" as many do leads to uneven edges in the camo that vary between looking sharp and blurred when what I am looking for with a hard-edged scheme is uniform and sharp. I've also found that the sausages don't adhere to the plastic as well as thin pressed sheets.

Re: David's Dithering Desk
Fuselage camo done. Wings and fuselage need their undersides done. Then assemble them together, cleanup join and do paint touchups, add undercarriage, paint and add props and tanks then on to decals..............
At my rate of modelling, it should be finished for Christmas.
Hmm - looking at pic made me realise there was still a pievce of masking stuck at bottom of the fin. Since removed. Looks pretty good with the wings just sat on it ...........

Thanks, Shaun. I'll have to try Buetak gain now I know to try thin flat pieces.ShaunW wrote:Interesting projects on the go David. Re: David's Dithering Desk
Done a fair bit since last update. Wings are on and the join repair looks like it will be OK. Just needs a wipe of Perfect Plastic Putty and then some touch ups but on the whole I am glad I painted the wings and fuselage separately as it made masking the engine nacelles, and touch ups to them, much easier.
Also got on the black and the white cap over the cabin and added some tube to represent the exhausts.
