My gosh but you do have a knack for these old fixer uppers. The B-58 looks awesome! I had the 48th scale and sold it off to a friend unbuilt. Still kicking myself for that. I really want to see what comes of the Diana.

Terrific projects on your workbench!
Judging from the canopy, that old Stuka could very well be the original Airfix kit.
And I still have my original Dinah build on the shelf.
cheers,
David

Re: The home of gnomemeansgnome
Yeah the Stuka has a very poor canopy as you can see and I have no spares so I will try to remediate it as best I can and hopefully just pass it off as battleworn. Looks like it was barely a 20 piece kit! Nice detail though which I will try to save as much as I can.

Thanks. I guess that is what it really is for the most part. More work done on grafting the Jumos to the wing nacelles. The fit isn't exceptional but will do. As with the Jumoschmitt Dora, I created radiators out of plastic fork cross section and those will be futzed with and puttied in soon.

That old Stuka appears to be the original Airfix Ju 87B kit, first issued in 1957.

Re: The home of gnomemeansgnome
Cool, thanks. I was not sure of its origins. Not much to work with and I am pretty sure it isn't close to 72nd scale (more like HO I suspect), but once I get a paint job on it that should mitigate at least some of its flaws.

Some very nice work there. I like the PZL especially. Did you say you are using packaging material for the canopy? I have a hard enough time with kit canopies. I assume you vacuform the plastic? Very interesting work.

There's some interesting restos going on here, GMG. The Dinah is a great looking aircraft. I often see builds of wartime Japanese aircraft on here and wonder why I don't build any. I have one solitary Tamiya Zero in 1/48th and that's it. I should make amends.

Re: The home of gnomemeansgnome
Yes you should. Japanese aircraft are pretty cool; a wide variety of subjects are out there. I have a considerable number of various machines and they're not all Zeros either. I have a built Monogram 48th scale Zero in storage, and maybe at least three dozen aircraft kits in total. And yes I was attempting to use packaging material to replace the missing clear parts on the PZL but that has come to nought for now. I need to give myself a crash course in plunge moulding first.

Kudos to you for even trying to scratch build the canopy. You build up your bag of tricks that way. It will be interesting to see how you attack this thing.

Picking away and picking away and picking away......this heat is doing me in but once in a while, usually in the middle of the night when it`s too darn hot to sleep, I hack away at the various flightless fighting fowl on the workbench.....this is the current state of the Jumo engined Dinah....
The Gnat is in the shop for repairs following a rather unfortunate trip off of a shelf. Took the crash amazingly well too, only the canopy and pitot coming off in a richochet style hard landing. Been pretty good at that lately; I knocked the Type VII U-boat off of a shelf whilst putting up a flag in my living room window for Canaduh Day.The figures in the back are awaiting better detailed photos and repairs. The fun never stops here at the Nick Cave.

Nice work with the Dinah, GMG, the aircraft had such great lines. Dropping models or knocking them off shelves is an unfortunate talent of mine
