Really nice job on the A-wing
I really like the Bandai kits; the quality of the engineering is superb and the sharpness of the moulding is likewise excellent.
They are great for a mojo boost :-D :-D
Best wishes

Sweet work. I agree, sometimes it is good to try something different from your usual. You did some very good work on the A-Wing.

Thanks for the kind words about the A-eing, guys.

Finally getting back to the Hobbyboss corsair. I painted it with four shades of blue mixed from Tamiya paints. It's not nearly as patchy or faded looking to the naked eye. The lighting and camera are washing things out. Nevertheless, I'm thinking of applying a light blue filter to tie things together a bit more, and to act as a very subtle negative panel wash. I'll test on a small patch first.

Actually, do any of you all know what the mounting points beneath the wings look like when no fuel tanks are attached? I was hoping to build mine with one tank and one empty.

Sorry,

I checked my Corsair in Action book and there is a picture of just that (one tank on one empty) but it was not good enough to see what the mount looks like. Too dark. Not much luck on the internet too.

The Corsair is coming along nicely though! Looks great with the flaps down!

Very nice-looking Corsair! I'm with Paul, I think it looks extra impressive with the flaps down. Very nice, subtle variations on the paint!

Very nice Ralph. Do you ever add post decal filters to your aircraft?

Decalling. The best stage in modeling! It looks more like an aircraft you were going for. :) But getting back to Corsair, I like the color modulation a lot.

Thanks guys.

James, no filters yet. I'm debating it. I might just mist on a very thin coat of light gray, very lightly, to simulate fading and some sea air exposure. This wasn't a combat aircraft, so I want to keep the weathering light.
