Twelve is very good going in my book, Ralph. In comparison I'm on build #3 of 2017 :ha:

It's not a race. We used to have a guy here who would churn out 20+ a month, but they weren't very good.

At the same time, he was very happy doing what he did, so he was doing it right :)

On the bench, weekend of 27th Nov, 2017.

Work continues on the the 1:72 Fine Molds Bf109. I found myself in need of putty on the cowling covers to fare them into the rest of the fuselage profile. Wing leading edges also in need of cleanup.

The other kit is Eduard's 1:48 Nieuport 17. I've been tinkering with it over the last two years, but only brought it out for painting this last week.

I got an optivizor, and rigging is suddenly much easier!

Primed the 109. Then added filler to the front of the canopy, where fit was a bit loose.

Sanded and reprimed (Bondo dries quickly).

It was only then that I realized.

I had forgotten to reinstall the gunsight after accidentally knocking it off!!!

I agree with iggie - the Nieuport is looking very good indeed. Looks like you'll have this one finished soon. :)

Very nice. The 109 has great lines IMHO, especially the F-Series and early G-Series machines before the large bulges appeared.

Yep, agree regarding the lumps and bumps spoiling the otherwise clean lines

Your 109 looks rather nice in white!

Thanks guys.

I actually really like the bulges on the G-6.

Some progress from this week.

The 109 is decaled and ready for flat coats detail painting and weathering.

I got the main wings rigged on the Nieuport. Now that Im getting a hang of this rigging thing, I see a lot more biplane models in my future. Yes, that's an Airfix Eindecker in there too.

Notice I used blue ezline. According to the folks at Wing nut Wings, the French used blue rigging wires. I dunno. If wrong, I'll dye them something different.

Next step is to clean up the strut painting and rig up the tail.
