Drum roll...........
The great reveal:
I am going to get on with some of the detail work now, I've resin replacement wheels - no problem for the main wheels but I have to surgically remove the nose wheel from its once piece moulding!! I though about getting some decals on - but I will give the paint a deal of time to dry thoroughly.

Thanks for the positive comments guys, I do my best to improve with each model I build ( I rarely succeed in that endeavour though :-) ! ).

Re: TeeELLs kitchen crafting kit creations
I have done some work on the nose gear, I took razor saw to the wheel in order to replace it with one of resin; it should be possible to discern the spokes - not in evidence on the original Airfix part.
This is one sophisticated Javelin, the axle is carbon fibre!!
Put together it looks like this:

Great paint job Tony and I like the work on the replacement nose wheel as well. All in all, a good day in the modelling office I would say!

Great camo job, and very worthwhile effort on the nosewheel.
Cheers,

Thought you should see what the nose U/C leg and wheel looked like before surgery. The nose wheel paint job had suffered when I cleaned the light grey off the leg.

Re: TeeELLs kitchen crafting kit creations
Having the gaps 'twixt the spokes properly opened up as opposed to the solid moulded OOB item is well worth the effort of fitting the replacement wheel IMHO, Tony. It might have been possible to open up the spoke gaps on the OOB wheel with a fine drill and files but I feel to do so would have taken longer than fitting the replacement item. Great work with this so far.

Re: TeeELLs kitchen crafting kit creations
I am making slow progress on the Javelin, 75% of the plethora of decals have been applied, the Firestreak missiles tidied up and the short-shot tail fins replaced. The under-wing tanks are primed and will be masked for painting shortly (as long as the primer behaves!!). I had started to remove the canopy masking before I realised that I still had to weather and matt the finish; so that will be a extra hour whilst I re-mask :-(.

Unfortunately I can't see your photos at the moment Tony, hopefully that is only a temporary hitch and normal service will soon be resumed (no probs viewing other members' pics so far, perhaps it could be your image platform - photobucket?)

Wierd! I can see them, but I had similar comments from another forum. I hope it is a temporary glitch with photobucket!
