Gorgeous tank transporter. As I said before, I could not tell the scale, your build and paint job makes it look a lot bigger.

Thanks PGAS, I will do some finishing touches to the Scammell as soon as the Matchbox GB is finished and I return from sunny Cuba at the beginning of March.

Following my return from holiday I spent some time finishing the Meteor NF11 and, since then, I have been continuing with the demo build of the Airfix 'Mk1' tank. I had forgotten just how much additional detail was required. I also positioned the 'male' gun shield/turrets in the correct place which meant work to fill the subsequent gaps!

I need to get things done on the Scammel but other events keep demanding my attention. There is a competition with a set model (Airfix JP3) so I am going to build that as the JP on which I flew my first 'jet' solo out of RAF Barkston Heath.

What to say?? I am an adult helper with a youth organisation and the kids are going to be producing a diorama of a Great War scene. Whilst it will, most certainly, be all their own work, I have been doing some research for them and also practiced some painting of figures that I might produce a guide for them to follow. The diorama will be populated with a dozen of so British soldiers and a great deal more Germans. I think that a 'reasonable' representation for the figures will suffice and this is my 'effort'.

Trouble is, I didn't take a photographic record of the 'how' so I must tackle another and remember to keep my camera to hand!

Needless to say, a lot of the 'legs and feet' detail will be muddied for the diorama. (Quite how he has kept his boots so shiny I've no idea!!)

What else have I been up to - well I visited RAF Linton-on-Ouse last week and crawled all over the JP3A they have, unfortunately I only had my phone with me - but lots of detail shots taken for 'my' build of the RAF College Cranwell JP3 I flew first solo in.

Great work with the figure painting Tony, not something I have any great experience in. Great to hear of the young 'uns doing something constructive like a spot of modelling rather than sitting in front of the screen of a computer game!
Doing - Tamiya 1/35th Universal Carrier.

Work is the curse of the modelling classes!

Nice work on your figure. Did you prime or just go at it with the paint?

Nigel,
Once the seam lines had been removed and the rifle and leg straightened, I used a standard grey car primer (straight from the rattle can). I am in the process of painting a couple more - this time trying to remember to photograph each stage so that the youngsters have a guide to follow, in case I am not there to supervise.

I have started the Airfix 1/72 Gloster Javelin, it is quite a massive aircraft!! I do not plan to remove the raised panel lines and re-scribe because, if I did, I would never finish!! The aircraft will be finished as a 29(F) Sqn Javelin FAW 9R the aircraft which replaced their Meteor NF 11's.

A few photographs to show progress thus far:
