This is looking very good indeed. Although I rarely comment on areas of a member's build that I might not be too keen on, after all who am I to say?, I agree with your decision to remove the roof decal and to mask and paint the cross instead ;-)

The problem with the roof decal is that it is necessary to trim right to the edge of the blue as it is white decal paper; in so doing, even with a new blade, the cutting removes tiny bits of blue toner from the surface leaving the blue looking very scrappy. If I trim further away from the blue I end up with a fine white line on the outside edge. I might try using my inkjet printer instead as see if that is any better, another option might be to seal the lazer printed decal (certainly necessary for the inkjet decal) before trimming it. No doubt I will still end up airbrushing the cross. Such is the learning process in this game.

After a frustrating hour or so, trying to mask the cab roof I went back to the decal method. This time I produced just the white cross and printed the blue outlines on clear decal film. I was able to trim the blue about a half mm away from the printed line so it didn't disintigrate. The finished item is drying off at present. I will photo the end result tomorrow.
Other than that, I done some basic weathering to the tractor, added the cross braces to the trailer ramps plus the ramp operating cables.

Boy, I could not tell the size of the model until I saw your fingers in one of the photos! The detail you are putting in this is amazing. Great tips too. Thank you TeeELL!

Thanks for you kind words Paul.

Last night I coated the roof with Klear prior to adding the ident decals. First on was the white X and, once dry, the blue edges - a much better finish as the photos will show. As an experiment, once the decals had dried thoroughly I removed as much excess Klear from the remainder of the roof as I could. It was a process that worked quite well and I only really needed to use my Matt cote to seal the decals.

The focus ia a bit off because light levels are low - it is dull and foggy.

A bit of weathering has been started although mostly it will be AMMO Mig 'North Africa Sand' pigment.

I've broken it! The tractor slipped whilst I was doing some work on it and my clumsy attempt to catch it has caused rather a lot of damage. It it presently in a 'remedial repair' situation and, if things work out OK I will continue. Bit hacked off to be honest, I think if I had let it drop damage would have been more straight forward to repair.
