I am far from the boss but I think a link would be sufficient :)

Here is a link to my thread on creating a more accurate Mk1 or MkII tank from the Airfix kit. If the moderators consider it inappropriate then I understand if the post is edited or deleted.

http://airfixtributeforum.myfastforum.o ... 78&t=50225

I haven't physically started on kit bashing. I've just outlined the differences in the various tanks that can be produced from this kit and some of the work that will be undertaken.
In that thread are further links to items I wrote about improving the MasterBox Mk1s as they too have shortcomings! The work on the Steering Tail, in particular, has reference to the Airfix item.

Very interesting stuff Tony. Looking at the forum rules section, I think you will be OK posting the link. I don't know if you are aware but this forum has a shared history with the ATF and the latter's chief, Ratch, is a frequent visitor over here.

Thanks Shaun,
I had an idea of the relationship between the 2 sites. In some ways, my concern was more a presumption that most members on here would also be ATF members and therefore posting on here would be unnecessary?

Not in my case Tony, I've enough trouble keeping up with this forum, never mind even looking at another! This was the first forum I really looked at and just sort of stayed with it
Best wishes

Roger that Iggie. I'll run with the link and just 'bump' it here when there have been some new modifications posted there.

I'm similar to Iggie Tony, the membership of one forum keeps me plenty occupied these days!

No I haven't Tony. At the moment I'm building aircraft and my next armour build is likely to be in 1/35th as I haven't built in the larger scale for a while. My modelling interests are roughly 50/50 aircraft and military vehicles, that is to say I don't just build tanks but also enjoy building subjects such as half-tracks and softskins. Unlike my aircraft builds, which are largely post war jets, most of my military vehicle building is WW II. That said, the Mk I is the first of the tanks and therefore of interest to me. Although I'm not a full on rivet counter I have avoided the Airfix kit for a number of years due to the issues with it and would like to see one built on here with all the proper mods.

I have posted the first stage in the modification of the Airfix Mk1. Follow the link, go to page 2 and scroll down. As you will see, unless I did a complete copy and paste, the time required to create a similar thread on here would mean I had no time to make the model myself!
