Excellent work Tony, that looks very sharp and nicely set on the base as well.

Which way are you headed this summer?
Best wishes

Thanks for your comments everyone it really is appreciated. As for our journey, if the moderators permit, we are starting from Droitwich Spa marina and heading to York and Ripon, taking in the Rochdale canal, over the Pennines. If you are feally interested, the pop along to http://www.waterexplorer.co.uk;. Then select Waterways Maps, then Interactive Waterways maps and finally Boat locations (lower left on that page). Click on ELEMIAH and that will give you our most recent location. I try to update around midday and when we moor for the night, but it all depends on mobile internet access!

If you try the above today, you should find us at Droitwich Spa marina but you need to look at 'yesterday' or possibly '2 days ago'. I will update tomorrow.

Oh, forgot to mention, the boat is the yellow dot - the red dots are 'places' such as the marina, junction, pubs etc.

Excellent work on the Javelin. Sounds like a cracking trip on the canals and I have just had a look on the map Tony, don't work too hard on the locks mate.
Cheers

Love your Javelin.
I have the big Airfix kit, but I wish there was a decent, modern kit in 1/72.

cheers,

Our route to Ripon is approx 345 miles and 330 locks! Then we have to return home! A different route home 415 miles 270 locks!

Tony isn't that part of the fun. On the bright side when you are finished with all those locks, the only thing that will scare you wil be Kryptonite! My favorite canal is the Shropshire Union mainly because I was born in Ellesmere Port. I used to love sitting on the towpath fishing as a kid on the stretch between Ellesmere Port and Chester. I hope the weather is OK and you have a nice time mate.
Cheers

It is quite strange! The Javelin was built as part of a GB on the sister website to this, the build was recorded and the final photos published on that site, but it is this web-site has garnered more interest and you have seen only snapshots of the build stages. Thank you everyone.

On last years cruise I built a Cuban revelutionary air force Mustang for a GB - I learnt from that! The modelling equipment has been left at home :-).
