iggie's modelling table
Re: iggie's modelling table
I really love it!
when I imagine what I build, and the way I like to make it look, if I build a ship, this is the way I think on that build!
congratulations, fantastic job.

That's pretty awesome iggie and what a terrific subject too. Makes me want to break out a ship kit

Re: iggie's modelling table
Thanks chaps!
I have to admit that I am missing it being on the bench already, and I suspect it won't be long before another 1/350th subject makes an appearance; possibly a flat top!

Re: iggie's modelling table
Thanks Billy & OT
Following on from Danton, the next entry onto the bench is the Revell Heinkel He-70 'Blitz', which is part of the One for the Books GB currently underway; my entry is a late starter, but might just scrape in before the deadline expires
I started a couple of evenings back, so this is the progress up to last night; the kit is a re-box of the ICM tooling and to be honest although better than the older Revell tool, it has a distinct whiff of the limited run about it. Locator pins are tiny where present, the instructions are a little vague as is the fit of a number of parts. That said, it apparently looks more accurate, although I wouldn't have a clue about that!

Re: iggie's modelling table
I like the look of the He-70 but I see what you mean about the kit having a limited run appearance, even in photos the plastic has that look about it. There's a fair bit of fettling required by the looks of things but it's all in a day's work to a modeller of your calibre
Doing - Tamiya 1/35th Universal Carrier.

Re: iggie's modelling table
I'm rapidly becoming increasingly disenchanted with this build; the parts fit is mediocre at best and the locating points for the undercarriage nonexistent
However, it has been sprayed all over with AK Interactive Metallic Aluminium, then decals on....this is where I got ahead of myself and forgot to paint the black around the nose. I have now done this but had to cut in around the lightning flash decal... . The undercarriage is assembled (it's rare I build anything wheels up apart from ships ) and needs paint.

This build is presenting you with some challenges Iggie but it looks good from here if that's any consolation!

Funny you should say that celt. I've thought the same thing for a number of years now, ever since I built the Matchbox He-70.
Speaking of which, I'm surprised that Matchbox isn't the origin of this kit but, according to Scalemates, this one is from ICM...which isn't encouraging as I have the ICM version in the stash.

Re: iggie's modelling table
There are two versions of this kit available from Revell; this one which is the 2008 ICM tool and the older Matchbox boxing which Revell re-boxed in 2005. I had both but elected to build the ICM version and sold the other......
Kinda wish it had been the other way around now!
