Cheer guys! I am enjoying this build; actually, so far this year I've enjoyed them all except for the slight B-17 'paint-circle' wobble

What I'm not enjoying is being out on sites almost every day at present, and stuck in the office afterwards writing up reports and (trying) to get design drawings done
But, it pays the bills ( ) and for new kits (Yayy!!) so it's not all bad!
No progress for the last couple of evenings, but will be hitting the bench later this evening ;-)
Best wishes

Jim

Love the B-17 Iggie. Great work on the NMF. I am trying not to buy too many models but after seeing your B-17, I am weakening again. Dammit!

The cockpit on the 109 is very smart. Very nice weathering.

I went back a little further and got caught up on your USS Montrose. Fantastic work. Love the photo-etch railings and the paint job! So delicate but adds so much to a ship. Not sure where you get the patience for it.

Thanks Paul; Montrose was a fun build, although the PE was a little trying at times!

After a few evenings of real life interference I'm back in harness. I decided to get the wings painted fully before starting on the fuselage so using Revell mouse grey anf grey blue I freehanded the camo using an airbrush. According to the instructions, late model Gs had soft demarcation rather than the usual hard edged splinter patterns of earlier marks.
Fuselage painting commences tomorrow hopefully!

That looks great Iggie.

That prop is a very strange option. I can't say if I've ever heard of a VP prop on a single engined aircraft that could be feathered, they're normally fitted to multi-engined stuff. Perhaps WWII fighter were different in that regards to the types I used to maintain.

Managed to escape real life long enough this evening to get out and do some more spraying; I masked up the wing upper surfaces to avoid over spray and then freehanded the solid colours along the fuselage upper sides and spine, and then the mottling. I'm quite pleased how it turned out, add it's really the first time I've done anything like this
I added the cockpit windscreen & also gave it a gloss coat ready for decals

And added the prop temporarily to see how it looks :-D

That's lovely work on the camou. I hope that's not the dining table with the paint stain on it? ;-)

Nice one, that is a great bit of freehand airbrushing and mottling. Alas, my wife has the eyes of an eagle and would have noticed that paint stain at 100 paces
