Thanks for the comments and thoughts 8-)

Next up is the Modelcollect Flak 40 & Waffentrager set.
It really builds up nicely and even though the instructions are a tad vague in places the fit is good and mostly obvious as to where things go.
This is where I'm at now; the Flak 40 is built, painted and has had a coat of Tamiya Smoke. Next will be a start on the E-100 Waffentrager chassis

Thank you Gents!

This went so quickly I forgot to really take any progress shots!
I messed up the tracks to be honest; the road wheels aren't all in alignment so the tracks don't sit flat to the floor.... but in my defence this is the first AFV I have built with separate tracks since I was about ten
The rest went together like a dream. No filler and no drama.
I really like these Modelcollect kits!

Nice work Jim. It has an interesting patina that looks like metal. Is it straight Tamiya smoke or is there another colour underneath? Also, is this a real vehicle or a what if? It is really cool looking.

This is it. The moment we should have trained for.

Thanks!
It is just the Tamiya Smoke overlaid on top of the Revell Aqua 77 Dust Grey. As far as the vehicle is concerned, it is a 'paper panzer'; the Flak 40 was originall designed with such a mounting in mind, but it turned out to be far too heavy and therefore impossible to move. The Auf 100 series was a late-war project to carry all manner of weapons, but the project was overtaken by events and didn't really get off the ground to any great degree. I suppose they were the AFV equivalent of the Luft 46 aircraft.

Another Bandai Star Wars 'Palm-size' kit hit the bench last night; and turned out to be a cracking candidate for a blitz; this was an hour building and another half hour painting!

It just needs a bit of detail colour added, some washes and a varnish!

My you do build kits at a rate of knots and no mistake! I really like the AA set-up as I did not know that such a vehicle existed or was planned. Amazing what can be learned on this site!

The AT-M6 is done:

Next up is the new-ish Airfix Blenheim Mk.IV. Interestingly the box states that it is designed and manufactured in the UK. The plastic does look different to the Indian and Chinese mouldings and has a more brittle feel to it.
Progress do far:

Fast work with that little Bandai AT-AT, Jim, which has turned out rather well and I really like that E-100 and FLAK40/2 combo. It's good to see that new tool Blenheim on the go - those Free French markings look reminiscent of the old tool kit.
Doing - Tamiya 1/35th Universal Carrier.

The AT-M6 has turned out great. That Blenheim looks like a nice kit, although I don't fancy masking that canopy!

The Blenheim will be done in the Free French scheme, and I think will become the first ever model I have done in such markings.....terrible really!

As far as masking is concerned, as it is not yet warm enough to be air-brushing, I'm brush painting this one so the canopy will be done with a fine brush and a lot of swearing/holding of breath and scraping with cocktail sticks!

Here is were I'm at as of last night:

The view inside the completed cockpit before being attached to the fuselage; this proved tricky and the only significant fit issue experienced thus far.
I'm still not sure who/what was to blame, but I suspect me!

Some lovely work there Jim. The metal look from Tamiya Smoke / Revel Dust Grey is very effective. Nice start on the Blenheim too.

The Blenheim is really coming together very well, Jim. The no masking and cocktail stick method of painting canopy frames is my preferred technique and, touching wood, hasn't failed me so far. I dislike masking at the best of times but simply hate cutting up tape and masking canopies (I'm too tight to buy mask sets!). In my experience Airfix new tool kits can be a very precise fit, which is too precise for my imprecise building methods :ha: I've really warmed to the new tool range though as I think they can make excellent looking finished models.

That is a stunning job on the FlakPanzer, Is that based on the Panther hull?
