If you can walk away from a landing, it's a good landing. If you use the airplane the next day, it's an outstanding landing

Re: iggie's modelling table
Next up, after a long perusal of the stash while deciding what to tackle next is the KP (new-style) NC701 Martinet, a French produced version of the Siebel Si204 light transport/commercial aircraft.
The 701 was produced with dual controls primarily as a trainer aircraft.
The kit has all the hallmarks of a limited run kit; no location pins, soft plastic and (some) soft details. That said, the fit so far has been reasonable, although a lot of plastic had to be trimmed from the cockpit bulkhead to allow the fuselage to be closed up. The wings appear to be butt jointed to the fuselage; we shall see how well that works....

Nice work so far on the Martinet, Iggie. Interesting how many German aircraft designs were utilised postwar by the French.

That Aerosan is brilliant, what a great subject. Talking of which, this French re-pop of a German design looks very interesting...

Re: iggie's modelling table
The kit doesn't look too bad Iggie and it looks a very tidy build mate. How are you going to attach the wings? Personally I would use copper pins as it allows you to adjust the wings to get the geometry right before the final fix but after seeing my builds I think you know that. I am sure whichever method you decide to do, it will be spot on judging by your pass work. Looking forward to your next update.
Cheers

Re: iggie's modelling table
Cheers for the comments guys; the Martinet is progressing although showing more and more of it's limited run nature with fit.....the engine nacelles come in two halves, which mate beautifully. Unfortunately the infill piece at the front of each one doesn't fit at all well inside the two halves, and the completed nacelles take a lot of fettling to get them to sit well onto the wings. Getting the exhausts to fit into the openings is a laugh (not really ) and is actually better done by adding them from the outside; the openings need to be widened and lengthened, and a bit trimmed off each exhaust as well
Still, enough of my moaning, the basic assembly is now complete. I had to add plasticard shims to get the wings to fit somewhere near level; without they would have been at about 25 degrees dihedral . In the end, I went with a plain butt joint and lots of Tamiya extra thin, extra rapid cement and so far neither wing has fallen off; always a good sign I find
This is the basic airframe, since taking the photo I've added engines and two coats of Humbrol Acrylic Silver with a brush. You can see the wing root shim in white!

Re: iggie's modelling table
Cheers chaps!
I'm calling her done now; decals went on this evening and a second coat of W&N Gloss varnish. I figured that being a Swedish aircraft then it would be kept nice and clean
