Thank you all again for the kind words

After a lot of swearing and very little patience, I managed to get the horses rigged (or whatever one does with the nasty things) and the whole lot glued down to a suitable base. It was like knitting fog

Just dropped by. If that is a result of knitting fog I trust that you will be giving the rest of us lessons in that dark art: I for one would like to be able to make some figures as well as that first time round.

Thank you kindly Sir, but there won't be a next time; at least, not one involving horses. I'd rather rig HMS Victory with butchers string!

As a reward for finally getting the horses stuck onto a solid surface, I finished the Stuka. Very nice kit, no fit issues that I found and it looks like a Stuka; what's not to like?
Usual mix of acrylics, applied by brush, with W&N matt varnish overall to finish. I need to clear the cat's hair from the black background  (or shoot the Image cat)

A new project hits the bench:
The Academy Mig-23 Flogger; a bit basic but it goes together really well although a bit of filler will be needed around the air intakes

After a couple of hours work (I'd say this would make an excellent blitz build)

And the crates have arrived for the cart; a quick coat of brown applied so far

The figures and their diorama are finished:
I added some old railway ballast as a road, some static grass and my home made trees

That horse and cart is quite amazing!
I notice the delicate weathering on the timber.
Top job!

I love this kind of stuff! Thats such a lovely diorama, and great topic. Really nice work with the whole thing, but I'm especially impressed with the horses.

Thank you Gentlemen!
I have to say that wrestling with the horse harnesses aside, doing the figures (including the horses) was really enjoyable and I can see more figures (along with dioramas) 'figuring' on my bench in the not too distant future 8-)

I'm not sure that any horses will be involved though in future! ;-)

The Mig has had a coat of anthracite as a primer for a silver top coat, but I need to do a bit of filling above the intakes before going any further. I kind of like it in black though :-D

It does look good in black, maybe they had some 'black bunny' type of scheme?

That would be fun!

I've stuck with the kit scheme however and gone overall silver

The weather here is very wintery but as ever for MK I don't think it's going to amount to anything much

Crikey, a week away and I miss all the action (we've been skiing and saw more snow falling than I've seen for many years and I certainly wouldn't want to see that much falling at home!!). You made a fantastic job of the wagon, horses and figures and incorporated them into an excellent dio and now we have a NMF MiG-23 that is shaping up very nicely indeed. Some really great modelling going on here Mr Ig
