Anyway, the Mig is done; photos to follow tomorrow and a new project is on the bench
It's the Revell new-ish tool Spitfire Mk.IIa in 1/32nd scale. According to the experts, this kit has a multitude of faults and errors, none of which will be corrected during this build



So far it looks like a nice kit

Ha ha! Yes, that 1/32 Spitfire copped it from the critics for sure. (But in this day and age you have to wonder how money was spent on a new tool with the wrong shape oil cooler).
Looking forward to progress on your MiG 23.

It is a shame that the big players still manage to make such errors with their newer toolings (and I'm not singling out Revell here as I'm generally a big fan of their products) but, hey ho, I'm sure it'll look enough like a Spit Mk II to satisfy most of us and I look forward to seeing it come together.

The Mig got finished a while ago, but I didn't get around to photographing it until this evening:













Work continues on the Spitfire cockpit; most of the assembly is done and has been painted in Interior Green, with details to be picked out and then weathered

Very nice, Jim. That looks a bit more refined than the old Hasegawa kit for sure.
Watch out for the starboard AA-7 missile dropping off the pylon!

I'm not a fan of the MiG, but I can see you've done a good job

That looks great, Iggie. Aluminium or silver finishes are not the easiest to apply with a paint brush!

Work continues with the Revell 1/32 Spitfire; the cockpit is nicely appointed and is now beginning to look the part. The IP is the kit decals, with a lot of decalfix to set it, and looks pretty good to me! Everything else has had a coat of Humbrol 78 Interior Green, and details picked out in appropriate colours and then dry brushed with Revell Aluminium. The whole lot got a coat of Tamiya Smoke and a matt varnish on top of that.
I forgot the compass and reflector sight; both have now been added
