KellerModeller's chaotic cellar
Hello all,
so that's my workbench from first person point of view:
As you can see, I did not specifically clean it up for this picture.
...
OK, I did, but that's the result..
I was recently gifted some workbench updates for my birthday, a Greenstuff Hobby Arch lamp and a tablet holder to watch reference pictures / videos while painting:
Don't know if it will help , didn't try it yet as I am not at home for some time.
Thanks for looking
KM

That looks good enough to me! I can only dream of my own space since the cat owns everything.

Super space and lamp you have there KM - it looks so organized!
The past, present, and future walked into a bar. It was tense.

It only looks that way, I normally spend 1/4 of my modeling time searching stuff...
In most cases I will find out that I already used the tool some days ago and missed to put it back, so it became part of the chaos that is surrounding the actual 20x20cm modeling area

That sounds about right, on both counts.KellerModeller wrote: ↑February 23rd, 2024, 8:41 amIt only looks that way, I normally spend 1/4 of my modeling time searching stuff...

Re: KellerModeller's chaotic cellar
Still not at home but on a routine medical treatment, I took some modelling stuff with me...
Time for another restauration (or much belated finish with missing parts
An Esci SdKfz. 250/10, left in this state around 1995/96. What we see here is all that is left:
The fit of lower and upper hull was not very precise, so 13yr old me sanded the seam. Seemed like a good idea at that time, but it removed the characteristic sharp edges of the vehicle:
So the first step is to build up the edges again using stretched sprue:
It will later be followed by sanding and filling.
Thanks for looking

Ratch would probably tell you to attribute it to "Battle Damage" where as I with my ever increasing knowledge of the fine art of highly detailed model making would suggest that you "chuck some mud on it!"

Re: KellerModeller's chaotic cellar
That's the way I would have tried to restore the missing edges, KM. I think it should work fine with a bit of careful sanding. Or if all else fails, you could do worse than David's advice above - chuck some mud on it
Doing - Tamiya 1/35th Universal Carrier.
Work is the curse of the modelling classes!

Re: KellerModeller's chaotic cellar
Just thinking which kind of battle might cause this effects..
Maybe retreating too fast while driving in a village with small streets and houses with very rough yet strong walls.
And the mud would need to have the consistency of cow poo to stick in that area
Please don't get me wrong, I am happy about every comment and don't want to malign your feedback, but as I'm not a native speaker I fear it might not be obvious I'm just kidding here
Thanks

I think I said it already somewhere else - nice Keller. Unless you are not a very big guy with real big hands then this is quite a small thingie you have in your hands

Re: KellerModeller's chaotic cellar
Thank you!
I actually have very small hands for my size of around 1,80m
It is an 1/72 model so it's quite small, but I t seems that the 250 is also not an enormous thing in real life..
